Good luck boys.

Right, my lovely little petals, are you sitting comfortably? I shall begin…

Once upon a time there was a little team that lived in a little city of seven million little people. It was a nice city, a bit polluted but I mean in this day and age what else is new? The little team was the pride of the city, at least according to the sane and cool part of the city. The team’s leader was a wise old(ish) silver fox named Arsene. They say he had magical powers, but that his powers over the years had began to wane.

One day in December the little team, who are really nothing special at all, were drawn in a big competition against The Best Team In The Whole Entire Known Universe And Even In The Unknown Dusty Bits. It was like a bunny taking on a lion driving a Hummer, and the little London team had absolutely no chance. So everyone and their wife thought.

So TBTITWEKUAEITUDB toddled off to London, sprinkling magic and fairy dust everywhere they went. Their pounding footsteps could be heard for miles around, along with their booming cry of “D-N-A, D-N-A”.

But the little London team remained unfazed. The night of the first clash came around and the little London team played their little Borrower boots off. The match was a spectacle for all, and the little London team did their little fans so very proud indeed. 2-1 it ended, and beer was spilt in pubs all over the capital and all over the world.

Unfortunately, it was not over yet. They still had to travel to Barcelona, home of TBTITWEKUAEITUDB. The arena was enormous. Roofless and old, but enormous. The little Londoners had been there before, when their rivals’ very own little person had pounded them into the middle of next week with four goals to their paltry one. But this time, the team that showed up was a different team.

The was Magical Robin, the man with the bendy yet fixable legs. There was Cesc, apparently only being held in London as some kind of creche scheme thing, but captain of the team nevertheless. And then there was the marvellousest Londoner of them all. Jack from Hitchin. Which is not strictly London, but is a similar accent so let’s go with it. Jack who had stunned the worldwide audience by playing out of his boots against a midfield consisting almost entirely of superheroes. Added to this the team had been reinforced with the additions of MadWoj in goal, Laurent the Frenchman (but of course) and Johan the really smiley man.

The team’s fans had faith. They knew their team could do it and said as much in the run-up to the game. No one else did, though. No, their win against [oh I can't be arsed to type out all those letters again] had been but a mere whoopsie on the part of [yep, them again].

And now we get to the present tense. Who knows what the future will hold? Will the London boys exact revenge on the small Argentinean and his cohorts, who are without the back line partnership of Pique and Puyol? Or will it once again be a case of better luck next time? Who’s to say? The only thing that can be said is that, while the world’s press gather at the shooting end of the Barcelona team, the only ones expecting any kind of upset will be the most believing of Gooners.

A win may be too much for me to handle. A draw would be beautiful. A loss will be devastating, but recoverable if we go there and play our hearts out anyway. Some say it would be better to simply focus on the Premier League and FA Cup, but it would be so special to see a win over the Barca boys tomorrow.

I hope to return from Barcelona with a camera full of photos and a head full of happiness. If we see a performance worthy of a win, I’m quite sure we will it.

Come on Arsenal. Believe!

HAHAHAA!!! Very cute Sian bur you’re not fooling anyone as we all know you believe we can win it. After once again being robbed a goal by a referee V. Sunderland I was told by some neutral friends to put up or shut up. So I did. Arsenal to win 3-2. At first they laughed but then it was announced RVP is fit after all, have to say their smirking vanished pretty quickly. Feeling very good about this one. My old DB10 shirt was ruined by some airborne Guinness when AA scored the winner in the first leg, God only knows how much clothing will be ruined if we do win this one COYG!!!!!
