About

Hello, I’m Sian and I am a girl. And I love the Gunners. I know, naff name but what can you do? I come from a family of Arsenal supporters dating back as far as the 1920s, but as far as I am aware, I’m the first of us to have written a blog. I work on the magazine of a national newspaper in London at the moment and have been writing this blog since March 2010. In December of that year it won an award and in 2011 I contributed to the Arseblog anthology, So Paddy Got Up.

Beyond the Arsenal I love shoes, leopard print things and Grey’s Anatomy. My favourite Arsenal player of all time (of my 24-year-old time) is Thierry Henry, and my favourites in the current squad are Thomas Vermaelen and Bacary Sagna. Also, still definitely not over Cesc.

My heroes are Arsene Wenger, Michael Buerk, Chrissy Teigen and Kate Middleton’s hair. Was once described by the brilliant @LesRosbifs as the Upsy Daisy of Arsenal blogging. Given our lot is prone to bouts of depression and that she’s described as a ‘Happy and optimistic dolly‘, I will absolutely take that.

If you would like to contact me you can either fill in the form or follow me on Twitter: @SianyMacalarny.

PS. The URL name of the blog is a comment by ol’ chocolate leg himself, Robin van Persie: “I believe in Arsenal as a club, in the fans, in the teams. I just love Arsenal”.

Obviously it turned out he was lying through his sizeable teeth, but I’m not, so the URL remains.

Thanks for reading.
